japan 4

Hey there friends, so a bit has happened since yesterday. Last night we went and had sushi at a spot by our hotel and it was pretty good. I had taken a nap so it took me a while to wake up and enjoy the spot. (Our heads are still pretty messed up from the time change and when i'm standing in my tiny room it feels like everything is moving.) Our waiter was rad and he spoke a little english so that helped alot with figuring out what to order.
After dinner our we asked our waiter where a bar/club any kind of night life was. He told us that our part of town was pretty quiet but suggested a bar behind the restaurant called OPA. So we headed into the ally walked up the stairs and found ourselves in a quiet lounge. The bartender could only speak a few words but knew the names all the names of the liquors. The bar had a pretty extencive variety from whiskeys to  to vodkas. We looked at a cocktail list but only thing in english was the words fresh fruit cocktails. I said "fuck it" and told him two different cocktails your choice, one for me and one for the lady. Being a bartender I wanted to see what this place had to offer. The first round was a white peach vodka tonic and a peach belini. BOMB! This dude knows his shit. We sucked those down and asked him for another. The next round included a fresh plum drink and passion fruit lemon. Again he nailed it. I'm not too big on fruity drinks but these were off the hook. Not to mention this guy was clean and precise. He was a true mixologist. Then he showed us his trophy on the back bar for being best bartender in japan. His name is Yasuhiko Mizusawa check him out. OH YEAH! they carry fernet! I was in heaven. You know i went to the hieghts.
So i woke up today with a horrible hangover and had to check out andhead to the next location in Shinjuku. An even intenser part of town then the last. We hopped onto the subway and headed over there. We got off  and still had to figure out where our new hotel was.We tried to ask people and they had no idea what the hell we were trying to say. So we hopped into a cab and i pointed at a square and said "here please". As we were driving through the town all i saw was huge flashy buildings covered in flashing lights and hundreds of people. We hung out at a cafe and chilled for a bit while we waited to check in. After which we hit nap time. Now we have another night of debautchery headed for us. Later.
